![]() It's probably still authentic and in the same configuration it was in service. ![]() At that time you can photo details of the barrel, hammer, trigger, grip safety, slide release and mainspring housing so it can be determined if all parts are USGI and by what makers. The pistol looks good but you need to detail-strip it, clean and oil, or have it done. Parts were used interchangably without regard to manufacturer when field repairs were needed or work was done on a higher level. I took some photos and can post them if it would be helpful, and can also take others if I knew the specific areas of interest. There was no magazine with it, although it might turn up somewhere later. It also has some sort of a logo stamped above and to the left of the right grip that looks like a circle with two cannons crossing through it. The serial # is 1472469, it has "FJA" stamped just in front of the left grip near the trigger, and a "P" stamped near the clip release. I did some research on this site and it appears that if it is authentic, it might be worth a pretty good sum (not counting the value as a Keepsake). Since I prefer semis versus revolvers, this one is definitely a keeper regardless, but I'm really interested in how valuable it might be. ![]() Among the several revolvers, shotguns and a few rifles of various ages and makes, was this Ithaca Gun Co.
